Watercolor Workshop

Experience nature through the medium of watercolors with one of America's leading wildlife artists. This watercolor field trip for families will take place in the Conservatory Garden in Central Park, focusing on gesture and introducing participants to the unique characteristics of watercolor!
  • Day/Date: Sunday, May 1; just added, second session Sunday, June 12

  • Time and Duration: 1 - 4 pm

  • Location: Conservatory Garden in Central Park, at 5th Ave and 104th St.

  • Facilitator: Deborah Ross is one of America’s leading wildlife artists. Her work has included descriptions of nature for zoological parks and natural history institutions as well as scientific and popular publications. She has also illustrated a series of children's books on the life of lemurs based on her extensive travels in Madagascar. Deborah's work has been published in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Harpers Magazine, Discover and Natural History Magazine. Her paintings can be seen in permanent exhibits across America, including The Bronx Zoo and Marine Park Nature Center, Brooklyn. Ross is on the faculty of the School Visual Arts in New York and also teaches workshops in animal drawing and movement for animation studios such as Dreamworks, Pixar and Walt Disney Feature Animations.
